what to do with tranny

with my current mods and future mods(bigger turbo, injectors, exhaust manifold) im getting to the point to where tranny needs work.. i have an ATS valve body that is sitting at the house. im wandering if i should get a Goerend complete rebuild kit and throw a single billet tq converter on there or just say screw the rebuild and just put tq converter and valve body on there... tranny was rebuilt in 2009, and hasnt been driven much in the past 1.5 years.. thoughts??

if your going to spend the money to buy a converter get a triple disc much better converter. Are you going to put the converter and valve body in or a shop going to do it? If your paying labor for r&r I say go through the trans while it's out. I would do a billet input and the trans will be pretty stout till 450-500hp then you will want an output. But thats not nearly as hard of a job as a broken input.

i am planning on doing the work myself, i know how to rebuild trannys, done several of them with buddies. i want to rebuild everything, i know Goerend makes a master rebuild kit with input shaft and deep pan etc...i think it comes with tq converter..not 100%. Can you explain to me the benefits of having the triple converter compared to having a single??? Thanks

planning on doing it all on my own.. rebuilding tranny isnt hard, ive done a few autos in my time. as far as the billet input, goerends master rebuild kit comes with one. can you tell me why you recommend the triple converter instead of the single?? just by preference? this rebuild isnt going to happen anytime soon, but am planning on getting stuff together next year so its all waiting for me when i finally get back stateside. Thanks

the triple disc holds a lot more power than a single. Suncoast also makes a couple of master rebuild kits
