built 47re

ok i have a question..... how much do the built trannys normaly run???? i can get a built 47re for my 2001 for $4800 thats including a billet input shaft billet flex plate extra deep pan the valvebody a tripledisk converter. and its all suncoast parts.. $4800 to drop mine out rebuild it with these parts and put it back in ready to go. is this a good deal???? thanks guys just wanting some input

cumminscwby 11-14-2011 01:02 PM

I priced all the parts I needed from DTT and it came out to about 3000 that's without the input shaft. But if that price is with labor and all i think that's a bada$$ price

diesel life 11-14-2011 07:06 PM

Ya that's with the labor and all!!!! I didn't think it was too bad. I'm wanting it to hold up to daily driving and the occasional tug of the sled!!! Still need some injectors too though. The guy told me it would hold they run the same tranny in there puller:c:

cumminscwby 11-14-2011 07:41 PM

I'm running injectors now with a stock tranny and every time I drive I wish it was built up. Way outta my price range though.:argh:

diesel life 11-14-2011 08:10 PM

What size injectors are you running?? I'm looking at some 150 hp injectors but don't have the $$$$$$ funds for it all

cumminscwby 11-14-2011 08:45 PM

150hp. I got them barely used on craiglist. They work great. Pretty smokey though

RollinCoal99 11-14-2011 09:56 PM

:edit: same set up costs me $5800

diesel life 11-15-2011 11:31 AM

so evidentally that is a good deal for the tranny!!!!!

are you running the stock ip cumminscwby????? they leave a big cloud of smoke so they:jump:

cumminscwby 11-15-2011 01:14 PM

Yep shes got the stock injector pump unfortunately. She can handle it though. I've really hammered on it countless times. Egts stay in a good range. I gotta focus on tranny first before building up the engine and fuel system anymore. :booo:

diesel life 11-15-2011 06:02 PM

Ya my tranny will be next and an intake right now I just have an exhaust airdog 150 and the juice w/ attitude. I hope my Pump holds up for a while I've got 170,000 on it just put the chip and airdog on a few weeks ago How many miles you have on your pump????

cumminscwby 11-16-2011 10:44 AM

158k. Mine was never chipped or anything when i got it so it was never deprived of fuel but a good lift pump prevents that. With ur airdog ur vp should be fine.

diesel life 11-16-2011 11:26 AM

mine hadnt been chipped until i put this one on and it had the stock lp until the airdog went on to so im crossing my fingers and hoping that it hadnt been starved for fuel in the past.... hopefully it will last until the tranny gets done atleast but thats not how it normally works for me everything goes at one time usually

cumminscwby 11-16-2011 02:36 PM

Haha yea its always somethin man. If it aint one thing its a couple things fked up. I wish I didn't have a damn auto so i can keep building up my engine and fuel sys. But owell

diesel life 11-16-2011 06:02 PM

When I bought mine 5 years ago I wanted a 6 speed and couldn't find one for a decent price here in Indiana so I got the auto.. I've thought about swapping but was told that a built auto would cost bought the same if not cheaper. Ya I gotta build my fuel system up good I wanna pull occasionally and eventually gat a dedicated puller. Don't have the $$$$$$$$ for a puller now

cumminscwby 11-16-2011 07:48 PM

Same here. I'm gonna keep building mine. Eventually buy another one and use.the one I've got for my dededicated puller.

I only have 3000 dollars in my tranny with labor and with 525hp it still shifts as good as it did brand new with 37,000 miles on it n it pulls cattle, hay, n a couple sleds each year.
