Allright SMARTY...

I recently got me a smarty but would appreciate a little input on what some of you are running for settings that are working out for you pretty well. I don't tow too much, when I do, it is only about a 6000# camper. Mostly just back and forth to the rig and home again... would like a little better mileage.

I run mine on mpg mode it runs great

Nutty Jeeps 10-15-2011 12:22 AM

also currently am running mine on #1 which is mpg mode.... back and fourth to work i drive 70-80 miles everyday, runs like a top and still hauls ... if I need it to:c::rocking:

I too leave mine on the fuel saver mode. I was very surprised how aggressive it was for a fuel saver. :tu:

Smarty=Cummins 10-18-2011 11:47 AM

I have mine on #1 to and do you guys do you run your Timing, Torque and Fuel at. When I want to have some fun and still get good mpg I will run it on #5, Timing 2 Torque 4 and Fuel 5.

crazycooter 10-18-2011 08:15 PM

I had read several reviews prior that have told me that the mileage setting wasn't so much, but I did change it to #1, and at first glance, it looks like it is doing what it says, but I need see where its at at the end of the tank... anything over 13 mpg would be fantastic.

ThunderGunder 10-18-2011 08:51 PM

ive never bothered trying to get additionl milage out of my truck, if i wanted good milage id walk. but for me i set everything to kill except timing i leave it on defult. it does make for a much more driver friendly truck. no where near the fun of the adrenaline.

justin mccabe 10-19-2011 05:13 PM

yeah but the adrenaline kills your vp

cumminscwby 10-19-2011 07:40 PM

I run mine on lvl 9 and if i drive easy i get 18 mpg

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I could never tell much difference when changing the torque and fuel settings so I leave those default

in the future i was thinking about stacking the smarty with my edge

Smarty=Cummins 10-19-2011 09:42 PM

I was getting 16 with my truck with the smarty on 5 and the bully dog on it and when I took the Bully Dog off and put the Smarty on Fuel Saver I got 19.5 so i have noticed the change in the mpg. Ane for Justin Mccabe if you buy a edge and stack them make sure you have the Smarty on even numbers.

justin mccabe 10-19-2011 09:44 PM

i already have the edge so now i needa buy the smarty

Smarty=Cummins 10-19-2011 09:49 PM

Ok just make sure you put the Smarty on even numbers cause with it on odd numbers it will throw to much timing to the engine.

Stop listening to your cousins girl friends brothers boy friend who herd from his uncle that an ADR kills a VP. I feel sorry for the guys over at Quadzilla who have their product bashed cause a couple tards like you talk sh1t about stuff they don't know about. An ADR will not kill a VP. If there is enough fuel being fed to the pump it will survive. Its guys who run a stock LP and set it to kill that start this bull. Then ya got guys who don't know wht the hell their doing phuck p the tuning with the custom setting and cry that their truck is surgy. If you have a vp that's in good condition and hasn't been starved all its life it will be fine.. if ya take a pump that's on it last leg add a lift pump and then expect it to stay alive after an ADR then ya might have a problem:argh:

farmboy69 10-21-2011 12:11 AM

i also run mine on 9 all the time and if i keep my foot out of it i pull 19

RAW 10-21-2011 07:43 AM

Don't you find the throttle extremely touchy on level 9? :humm:

ThunderGunder 10-21-2011 06:45 PM

i didnt think it was. i thought it made it a much more driver friendly truck. it does get touchier with TM on 6 though, but still not 'too' touchy

Ordered a smarty - just not sure what to expect as it's only 65hp right ?

crazycooter 10-25-2011 11:39 PM

well setting er on mileage, she went from about 12mpg "stock" to now 14 after now 1 fillup. I might have to try a couple of these other suggested settings to see what she does. 14 is still pretty pathetic for a commuter cummins:dang:
