How much boost are you putting out.
I have a 2001 Cummins and have a Hy35 stock turbo and wondering what kind of boost you guys are putting out in your 98 to 02 auto. trucks. I am putting out 37psi which I think is good for a Hy35.

Thats alot for a HY. 35psi is the choke point. I was at 32si when I had mine.
I see 55psi now. |

I have my HX wastegate set for 34psi max. Nice and safe.

My highest egt is 1400 but I do need a Aurora 4000 for my truck and I think I would get better mpg and a little more horsepower.

Well I just have the HX35W on my truck with the wastegate hose clamped shut. At full throttle I see 30 psi and around 1,000 - 1,100 on the Pyro

But the Hy35 in the 2001 has the wastegate built in the turbo so you can't clamp the hose off.

They're talkin bout the hose from the wastegate to the turbo-to-intercooler boot.

Anyways, it's the hose going from the gate to the turbo itself, that's what they mean when they say "clamped hose". In the picture, it's the blue-ish hose that you can barely see under the intake tube. |

The hy runs a a low ar and smaller size exhaust housing , therefore blocking it all the way off imo is a horrible idea. Installing something like a jhook to slow the actuation a bit is a far better idea

I didn't know that my injectors and smarty would make it build that must boost. But ya like RAWilliams said that after 32psi it is just blowing in hot air. Would a Aurora 4000 do me any good or should I get a better intercooler.

I personally feel there are more affordable choices on the market that have comparable performance and features at a more affordable price point. If you could have an equal or superior warranty, with more available parts and upgrade options for the same price or lower wouldn't you use it? If so look to htt or II, engineered diesel and so on. Any vendor here can help you

I would install some high lift mach 8's , a s475 single and a p7100 and hold on :hellox:
Honestly though? Probably look at a 62 or 64 with a 71 turbine and a 14CM exhaust housing high tech turbo and industrial injection |

I run an HX40 and see about 35-40psi with stock sticks.

I like the smarty alot there are so many setting that will improve your truck. If I had to get another truck I would get a Smarty. But if it was a 07-11 with a 6.7 I would get a H&S.

250HP sticks, Edge Juice w/ Attitude HOT 6, and Super B special I've seen 58PSI, cant go any higher until I put different valve springs in
