gauges

I need a little coaching here,I'm finaly installing pyro, fuel pressure & boost gauges. I need input where to put the exhaust probe,in pipe after turbo,in cast iron outlet at turbo? Where is the best spot for boost gauge?I feel I need to watch where I drill so I don't leave chips in any thing that will get into engine like removing the part i drill& tap etc.:w2:

Re: gauges

Boost bolt in intake manifold for boost, pyro in manifold before turbo, in back runner of manifold. Just don't install probe in exhaust manifold, vacuum the chips you can get then fire truck up. There will be less resistance through the hole in manifold, it will force the chips out the manifold instead of through the turbo.

where does the boost bolt go I looked,by the intake elbow, can't find where to put it,The exhaust can't go in header pipe after turbo? Why? Thanks for speedy reply,John

Re: gauges

John,
Boost bolt replaces any intake manifold bolt, not the elbow, the actual intake plate.
The reading you get from preturbo better reflect the exhaust gas temps. It's also much easier to get a leak free probe.

I usually go to the very front bolt on the left in this photo. I know this is a 12v truck but its just for reference. It's the bolt that's still in the intake. Honestly any of the bolts that are on the inner side should be fine. I'm putting some gauges in next week for a fellow, I'll post some pictures
