fuel line question

I was just curious, would you gain anything if you went from a 1/2 inch fuel line to a 3/4 line. And another question, do you need a snubber/resistor on the fuel line? Because I got a edge juice with attitude and I was wondering because it jumps from 14 to 16psi some what alot. Thanks

No you would not gain anything by changing the line from 1/2 to 3/4.

Yes you need a snubber between the sending unit(supplyed with the edge) and the fuel line.

Thanks for the heads up. And I thought it was a 1/2. Line but I checked last night and it was a 7/16 line

7/16" is big enough. Remember, the larger the line, the larger the volume of fuel in it. It will take longer for the lift pump to react to flow demands and get the pressure back.

Thanks. I didn't see it that way!! But true!!

I have mine still running through the factory fuel filter assembly, and factory line between that and the VP. I've yet to see less then 18 PSI at the pump, running through what some call "those tiny little lines"

This makes me wonder about my own setup... how do you maintain over 18psi? I have an electric fp gauge, so it bounces around, but I run 18-20 at idle, and if I stuff it getting on the highway I can see it drop to as low as 10 (although it normally stays at 12 @ wot)

With some big injectors on the way, I'm wondering if that will make the pressure drop even lower? I think I might be getting air by my drawtube... but I need to drop my tank again anyways because I never drilled out the damn basket the old lift pump used to sit in and can't run it below 1/8th tank :argh:

At idle I I bounce between 21 and 22. With either chip or both maxed, I never see less then 18 at any RPM or load. I'm not sure why there is a difference, they are both 150GPH pumps. Could be line size, doesn't AD usually use 1/2" line? Pressure regulator in the return fitting of the VP? Regulator in the fuel pumps?

Dirt_Diver 08-02-2011 06:43 PM

Yes AD does a 1/2 line. Do ya'll know anyone that can look up a pump for me? I pulled a pump off and I can not find out what the pump is like hp rating. But the pump number is 0-470-506-027 and its from bosch. Thanks again
