Allstate Gear

Was wondering if anyone in here has any input on Allstate Gear. I found them on ebay looking for rebuild kits for my trans. I don't need any chinese parts or the like, so I need to find out if they sell anything of quality or otherwise, or if one our sponsors can do me better on a master trans kit or a rebuilt nv4500.

I take it that nobody has even heard of these guys, I guess that must mean, I ought to steer clear of them. They probably sell chinese junk parts.:argh: They are just the only ones I can find that sell an actual complete updated rebuild kit for an nv4500.

talked to them yesterday, and they use koyo bearings, national seals, and will include the extra parts in there too, like all the other needle bearings, synchro detent and spring kit and a shim kit for about an extra $100, bringing the total up to about $700 with free shipping

I think my dad paid 1100 for complete rebuild of one with r&r but not sure

$1100 maybe a decent deal, but then you add in your shipping and return shipping across the country at 200 lbs. place in CO springs told me they would rebuild her for $1100 too, or sell me the parts for around the same $700. I think I am going to go with the allstate gear package, skip the synchro detent kit, and the extra needle bearings. Just stick with the master kit with all three shafts, main bearings and synchro kit, and throw in the shim kit so I can get the bearing lash set on the mainshaft and countershaft. The only hard part of putting it back together will getting the 5th gear nut torqued. We will see what the new updated nut looks like, because I think I like the current update that is on there.

I've ordered from them and been to their shop all the parts Iv gotten from them seemed to be top quality and very affordable. I am not the best mechanic but with some help from them and a few pics online me and my brother in law pretty much rebuilt my nv4500 on the tailgate in a day.
