AIRDOG is it worth it??

So Really how many of you out there think that the AIRDOG lift pump with the 2 filters is worth the money and does it really help ???? I run a holley blue on my truck.. I have a 99 dodge so far all i got done is quadzilla adrenaline with ats intake horn and hybird turbo ! i wanna do 200hp injectors and compound turbos .. i thinking bout upgraden VP pump to a hot rod or monster pump .. Im lookin to make some power like High 500 hp to 600 hp.. if i did all this to it i didnt know if the airdog would be money well spent or not .???

I have a FASS with two filters, and I think it is worth every cent. I have all the fuel available I'll even need, and the extra filtration is excellent. The peace of mind it provides is priceless.
With your Holley Blue, what kind of fuel pressures are you seeing? Idle and WOT?

Hey Man Out of the little holley Blue i got i see 18psi at idle and cruisen down rd 15psi and getting on it it drops down to 11 to 10 psi !

There is nothing wrong with those pressure, under 10 psi is the danger zone. The relief in the return line is set at 18PSI. Unless that 18PSI is achieved, there is less cooling of the electronics in the VP44. My FASS holds 22PSI almost always, only drops momentarily when I hammer the throttle. Despite the pressures being acceptable, a FASS or AirDog does two other things. Filtration, as already mentioned, and removes any air from the fuel as well. Air in fuel can be a killer for a fuel system. Injector needles slam closed harder, plus air offers no lubrication value. With that being said, there is more to pressure to fuel. The cost and time is significant for a FASS/AD, but the benefits outweigh the cost in my opinion.

I have a Airdog and it is worth the money. I would stick with the SOVP 44 to make power with the way you want to go with 500 to 600 hp. As for the Holley Blue seems to keep up with what you have now.Are you still useing the stock fuel lines?

RollinCoal99 06-28-2011 07:16 PM

Yes get the air dog 150 that will be good for what you want i got that and its more than enought.. it saved my VP from crapping the bed

Ive ran the airdog, and hated it. Running a Fuelab 42402 with external filters and will never use anything else. I like how i can run it on 30-40 psi around town and turn it up to 60 at the track

but he is running a vp and that is way too much fuel pressure for that. I like fass over airdog myself. you can make all the power you want on a sovp44 there is no reason to spend the extra money on a hotrod pump.
