TST Competition

How much of a difference does the comp version of the TST pm3 really make. Anyone know? I have the edge drag comp which I really like more than the TST but was thinking about upgrading the tst to competition. Then see which I prefer and get rid of one of them. What your thoughts:pca1:

Just not a lot of us usin the TSTto be able to offer much info. It's always been reported to be a good solid box but the price is a little steep for what your gettin for most folks.

You wont gain anything over the Drag Comp. Hp is about the same give or take a few. Differences I've seen is were they come in hard at and how long they fuel. The TST fuels longer and a bit harder up on top.

The biggie with the TST that it is fueling only, no timing. SO, perfect to stack with, say a Smarty or Superchips, something that does both fueling and timing.

I had a TST hot comp and it fueled real hard. But now I have moved on to bigger and better things like the REDLINE box. The TST made my turbo bark if I got out of the throttle to fast. I didnt like that

I ran both the standard and the comp upgraded TST.

The Comp version was NOT street friendly above level 5. Nasty shudder.

Level 5 on the Comp version is comparable to level 9 of the standard version. It fueled much harder off the bottom and was much stronger through the midrange.

well not sure if it's worth the upgrade. I really like my drag comp better but thought maybe comparing apples to apples (tst with upgrade) would change my mind. I thought about putting my mad ecm back in and running the pm3 comp version. then sell my smarty and drag comp. Now I'm stuck again :humm:

One thing is for sure. Different components work diferently on various trucks. I talked to a guy today that hated the Smarty so much his head was ready to explode.

The next breath, he couldn't stop priasing it in a buddies truck.

So, everyone is different and there's lots of opinions on the subject. I built a work around fix for the Smarty issues I was having. But later felt that by adding even more components, I was increasing my chances of failure.

For the street, you will not find a better stack than a drag comp with a smarty, IMO. I have tried them all. I have a redline for pulling and I take the smarty off and use my drag comp as an EZ. I have a JVD torque enhancer, I've run 4 TST's. 2 PM3's and 2 Competition Versions. Just to give you an idea.
