South bend clutch

I just ordered the dd3600 with the bigger input shaft I was wondering how hard is it to change the input shaft. Also is it better to go ahead and do the upgraded hydraulics. Thanks for the help

The input shaft is easy to change, i think theres 4 bolts that hold it then seperate the cover with a flat head then the shaft pulls out. but as far as hydros goes, you wont need the upgraded ones.

i would depending on the amount of miles on your stockers...either way you'll find out when you do the swap and it will either disengage the clutch or not

i would do the hydralic upgrade as soon as possible. i didnt when i went to a dd but i should have just didnt have the money at the time.

The input swap is super easy. Its only 4 bolts on the front and pull the plate. Somewhere i have the instructions saved ill try to find them. just be carefull when you are pressing bearings on and grease them up good. there is nothing like chasing rollers around several times

Re: South bend clutch

I would always upgrade hydraulics when running any dual disc clutch.
