intake manifold

Hey Guys,

Was thinking about getting the banks intake manifold for my truck but wanted to get some opinions about it before I purchase one.....Would you recommend another one to go with instead of banks?

Thanks for the help :tu:

Look up "pusher" intakes on ebay, around $150 and do the exact same thing and i think they look a lot cooler. Also have ports tapped for boost gauges, water/meth, etc.

buying something that says banks is like burning your money then flushing the ashes. your money is much better spent on someone elses products. the pusher is a good budget intake ans the ats cfm and even the afe are much better and flow the air much smoother than the banks. not to count cheaper.

Where can you find these Flow Charts At??

Pusher Intakes
I like these ones as well. Nothing fancy, but piratical.

:101010: Couldn't agree more!

Despite it's futuristic exterior, the AFE Blade Runner has a good design in it. Your also paying for it.

I know that Banks makes u pay a lil more for his name. This is not a side chop or im not sharpshooting anyone from a far. But I find it hard to say one is btr than the other besides price without some proof I guess. Has someone one did some research maybe dyno tested the popular ones or had them flow checked. I say this cause Im really interested in buying a intake. But cant get anything more than a opinion and its usually the one they bought and usually the only one theyve ever bought. :humm:

From what I have heard, many times, a aftermarket intake doesn't make a huge difference on 2nd gens. More can be gained on 3rd gens from them. I'm not too sure how much difference would be seen on a dyno either, from on intake to the other. A buddy of mine made 640HP with a stock intake.:humm:

Ive heard the same. To me I dont understand how the air being routed from the turbo to the cooler out the cooler and last but not least the intake before entering the engine whould pick up anything more thats why ive been skeptical. They sell the A/F intakes on the notion that its more rounded before it enters the engine. Basically the last step before entering the engine, but what about all the other almost 90* bends it travels through before the intake?? Then at the last step "Intake" gets more curved with a A/F Intake right before it hits the wall spreading out another 90* into your Intake ports. Im confused on how that last effort for more flow at that point would pick up much of anything. Its one of the last steps in the flow process all the restriction is before the intake.

640 is impressive.

As long as the intake is pressurized, any shape of intake can be used. I guess a real test would be to have a pressure gauge at the outlet of the CAC, and another after the grid heaters, and possibly near #5 or #6.

640, with a little giggle gas....
