Injector Sizes
Iam looking into getting some bigger injectors for my 01. my local diesel shop is saying that anything over 100hp sticks will cause idle problems and start-up problems. anybody running larger injectors that can give me some input?

Fill out your signature so we know more info on your truck. Bigger injectors will make your truck idle different over stock injectors. Just make sure you get a name brand injector and you will be fine. And make sure your have a good fuel pump to make sure your not starving your VP44 such as a FASS.
DDP DonM Industrial Injection Edge Jammer Just to name a few WELCOME TO DB!!!! |

me and my buddie both have industrial injection 370 stage 2 injectors in my 94 12v and his 95 12v and there is no differnce in how it starts just on ours you have to push the pedal ever so slightly just to get them to fire

I think I'd look into a different diesel shop to do any of my work. One that seems to know what their doing

We just put some Fireball 200's in a truck with a HTT 64/14. Idles like stock and has very low idle smoke.
The bottom line is that the truck requires 'X' amount of fuel to idle or cruise or make a given amount of power. The injector does not play a huge role under these conditions with regards of quantity of fuel consumed to do a specific job. Some of the old DD injectors were known to have some driveabilty issues on the bottom end. It's my thought that the spray angles were compromised due to excessive honing. This is why we started seeing more mileage with EDMs. Better spray angles and precise fuel metering out of each hole. Dave |
