Default Turbo Up grade??????

I have a question. Is there a kit to keep you stock turbo and add another for a twin setup? Or is that dumb and should buy a twin set already setup? Can I do somthing to my stock turbo "Automatic" to increase boost fairly cheap? Or should i just get a single aftermarket one? I dont race my truck its a daily driver and I pull a trailer atleast once a week.

Also I see allot of people have other turbos other than the ones i normaly see like auroras garretts and bd what site can i go on to see other ones. Sorry for all the questions I cant be the only one I hope that would like this info. Thanks

I'm running a stock HX35 in my COMPOUND turbo set up.

To get more out of a HX35, or HY35, you can use a boost elbow or JHook. The cheaper route is to just plug the wastegate hose/tube.

hahahah i like how you emphasized COMPOUND cause that is what it is, its not a TWIN setup cause there is one small turbo and one big turbo. NOT two small, or two big. I know some guys who have a hy35/hx35 as a "towing twins" setup. Mild power but still added power. Seems silly to me to run such a small setup, im more of a 66/98 guy

Thanks Raw.. Where can I look to get a "compound" setup to utilize my existing HY35?

I guess you cant call them towing twins can you as you say cause a hx35 puts out more boost than a hy35 "its not a TWIN setup cause there is one small turbo and one big turbo"

I would just buy a boost fooler for like 80 bucks. It keeps the waste gate closed for longer so that you get higher boost pressure. You can get a Quadzilla one that is "plug and play". Just plug it in and you instantly get higher boost pressure!

Looks nice Raw do you know where i can look for a kit minus the turbos to get something like that done? What would be the difference in a boost fooler and just getting the $3 Lowes J-hook Mod?

if you don't have a boost fooler you will throw over boost codes, but the boost fooler does nothing for keeping waste gate shut.

The hx35 is bigger than the hy35 therefor the hy would be the primary. Not saying a agree with the setup just letting you know what people are running as a cheap budget twin setup.

Compounds will definitely have cooler EGT then a j-hooked HX or HY, and quicker spool up as well.
There are a few places that offer kits that utilize the factory turbos. Cheapest I found was $1800 though.
