Edge/Smarty Stack

So i bought a smarty we had today and I stacked it with my edge. And Im running my edge on three which is where I always have it with low end responsive on 1. And I have the smarty on 3 which is fuel+timing+boost and I set to torque management on stock because I have tons of fuel down low or should I change it, timing i bumped up to 2 and I turned to duration too 2 as well which I might turn down. So my question to you guys that have stacked them on vp trucks whats the best setting to set them on? What have you guys had the best luck with? Thanks Scott

I'm interested in this as well, as a Smarty is on the way! :tu:

So far with it set up this way I never saw over 1200 degrees out on the maiden voyage!!! I cant tell you boost I was to busy looking for cops and watchen the street

I run my comp on 4 and Smarty on 6. My torque is set on 6-wild, 2 Timing on stock injectors, and duration on 2-mild. I get a lil better milage set like this and it actually smokes less than on the default settings. I hit 40 psi of boost and if I stay in real long I've hit 1300 degrees.

Yeah the thing I like about the smarty is odd numbers have added timing and then you can add more timing as well.

mainman300 02-15-2011 11:40 PM

crank it up see what happens.

Haha Matt lets not just yet. I still need it evryday and dont need it all blown to chit

From everything I have seen a Smarty/Edge stack on a VP truck hurts performance.

a lot of people believe they feel a difference, but put on dyno or take down the track and it's less.

02cumminskid 02-16-2011 10:35 AM

I took my Smarty off for a day and just ran the comp and there is a huge difference in power on the bottom end. I get 40 psi of boost with the Smarty and comp but only 35 with the comp by itself.

Farmboy 2.0 02-16-2011 10:42 AM

Yeah im interested to see. One of these weekends when I get the new turbo put on Im gonna go and tune it on the dyno and see what works or doesn't work or if anything works.

mainman300 02-16-2011 03:14 PM

everyone I have talked to about stacking those say only run the smarty on even numbers for fuel. does it drive smooth?

Farmboy 2.0 02-16-2011 03:37 PM

Yeah thats right Matt but I am running on odd for some more timing. Yeah it drives real smooth. If you want to ride in it come over to the shop and go for a ride your more than welcome. We are hanging twins on the 2010 mega cab tonight so we will be around til mid night or so

mainman300 02-16-2011 04:41 PM

Well if you have a 01 or 02 truck the smarty is good for TQ management. But together on a dyno(personal experience) will fight each other.

mainman300 02-16-2011 08:06 PM

right on! when ya gonna get a 64? I have been wanting to try a smarty on my truck.

Farmboy 2.0 02-17-2011 10:08 AM

Come over and Ill load it on for you. I hope in the next couple of weeks. Just gotta sell my turbo first. And I think i have a custom ground cam coming as well
