Ok, instead of rubber in your mouth...put a cup of water in the microwave for 3 minutes...should be close to boiling and coincidentally melting the half a gatorade bottle I used in this task, remove the water from the microwave WITH GLOVES and drop the seal into it...this should REALLY soften it up enough. I use this method every time I have to put a cylinder packing on a forklift.
My fix is from experience, working outside, in the cold, away from any power or civilization. It's the MAN fix! :lol:
FYI, they aren't rubber, it's a silicone. If diesel gets on most electrical connector seals, they will swell.
