What upgrade next?

I just finished installing a raptor 100 from Alligator performance :jump: and want to know what you guys suggest next.Im looking to improve fuel effieciency and hp without harming trans.thanks for your ideas.:w2:(im trying to upload pics of raptor install)Really wasnt too hard to install except dropping tank. But that wasnt bad using jack.

and edge comp and don't tap the pump wire. also a good set of gauges or a quad adrenaline/edge juice with attitude

oldduallyfart 12-31-2010 07:14 PM

I hve been reading what you guys say about programmers. The edge comp is a mild upgrade? And when you say dont tap pump what does that mean?

RAW 12-31-2010 07:20 PM

The Comp is mild to wild. Taping the pump tells it to deliver more fuel without the ECM telling it to

oldduallyfart 12-31-2010 07:46 PM

quad adrenaline/edge juice with attitude? This is a chip and module(digital gauge) correct?

I dont know,i see 1slow24 posted today he installed an edge comp and it ran a little bit and died. That doesnt sound too good.

If an injection pump is already weak a fueling box will kill the IP quicker.

oldduallyfart 12-31-2010 08:15 PM

Oh,okay. How can you tell if you injection pump is weak?I did install a low pressure led till i could afford a gauge or module but that just checks uplift pump, right?

Basically you really need two things to get started before adding fueling items. The first being a lift pump such as the airdog or the FASS which already stated you have a raptor. So the next thing you need is gauges ( boost, pyro, fuel pressure) most importantly is the fuel pressure because low fuel pressure is what kills your injection pump the quickest. So basically what happens inside your injection pump is that when there is not enough fuel to feed the pump so the fuel cavitates inside the pump therefore burning the pump up prematurely.

true, that is a mechanical failure of VP44's. Most of the time a VP has electrical failures from low fuel pressure. The VP44 uses fuel to cool the electronics in it, low fuel pressure is low flow, low flow removes less heat.

This is also true low flow and internal timing failure are the most common ones. the trouble code for that is P1688.

Thanks for the info guys.Looks like my next upgrade is gauges.

Boost, Pyro and Fuel Pressure :tu:

Wouldn't hurt to have Trans Temp in there as well.
