Default BONE stock 02 cummins just purchased only 48K on it

Well I have a clean slate to start with 2002 with only 48,000kms on it. Never winter driven just used to pull small camper in the summer. So I am looking for suggestions as to where I should start. FYI the truck will be used as a daily driver come spring once lease is up on my tundra. Light to moderate towing duties will be needed once in a while. Truck is ext cab 4x4 and is an auto. I love the sound of a loud exhaust from these diesel's and am for sure going to purchase one just not sure which brand. Turbo back Stainless???? Also was thinkin of a fuel pump FASS or Airdog??, I have heard bad things about the stock lift pump and don't wanna take my injection pump out. Look forward to the suggestions and reading more on this site.

Magnaflow, MBRP, Diamond Eye, Flo-Pro, in that order for exhaust in my opinion, AirDog 165 II for the lift pump and you'll have a good start, and I really like an S&B or AFE intake on those engines

fuel pressure gauge!!!, and deffinately an upgrade to the fuel system, I have been happy with my airdog. Then intake/exhaust, and maybe a tuner/module, but don't go crazy with the auto trans, may be a good idea to try to address it before the tuner. Good luck, sounds like you got a truck to start with

Fuel pressure gauge should be your absolute top priority, followed by an aftermarket lift pump. After that, a lot of the upgrades can simply be a matter of preference. If you intend to go anything over say 60hp from stock, you will want to start saving now for an upgraded tranny...

Isspro Gauges (Boost, Pyro, Fuel Pressure)
FASS or Airdog Lift Pump
4" Exhaust
S&B or AFE Intake

Sounds like a nice truck

X2 on the fuel pressure. I would keep your foot out of it and baby it until you get a FP gauge and lift pump like Raptor 150, Air dog or FASS...stay away from fass ddrp replacement pump (it doesnt hold good pressure under load). If you are planning a programmer some come with the gauges you need..

Well looks like I got a good start to my christmas list. Some stainless exhaust had MBRP for my 7.3L and it was good. Then I guess a 3 pod pillar style guages. Is there any upgrades I can do to my tranny now to try and prolong its life. As i have said the truck only has 30K miles on it don't want to sink a brand new aftermarket tranny into it for a few miles yet

Magnaflow exhaust system, Airdog pump. Also upgrade you air intake and fuel system. I suggest some bigger injectors too. Diesel Performance: Discount Truck Accessories & Performance Parts, Buy Chevy, GM, Dodge & Ford Truck Parts, Air Intake Filters & Exhaust Systems, Fuel Tanks, Mounts, Gauges & Injectors Online is the place to go. Look at my signature for some ideas. I also see your a newbie so, Welcome enjoy, I'm sure you will find everything you need here.
