how smart is a smarty?
I am looking at programmers and such, and am aware of the smarty being able to read diagnostic codes... not necessarily a key feature for me being that my odometer will give me most of them, but will a Smarty read the codes out of the abs computer? (my abs and brake lights have been on since I bought the truck)

Sounds like a speed sensor...mine did the same thing...not that it has anything to do with a smarty...

crazycooter,
I have a Smarty and mine only reads the DTC codes. I have heard and read some where in a forum that by jumping certain pins you could get the ABS light to flash and then just count how may flashes and then look it up. I have not tried that nor have I tried to look anything further up on it. I think that a scanned from the Actron line is designed for the ABS but it too is a pretty penny.Hope that helps answer your question. oudive |
maybe for the cost, I can have the dealer tell me what parts I need to buy from them to turn off the lights...:scare2:

It's the ABS sensor on the rear end. $43 from Autozone and 10 minutes to install. Dealer will probably charge you a fortune to do it.

if its my rear abs sensor, (btw i have one behind the seat somewhere) then how does it not affect my speedo? being it is a multi function sensor

Look we have all had the exact same problem on the same trucks. I just did mine last month. ABS light, Brake light on. Changed the sensor and it's fixed.

i guess Ill let that one float on up to the top of my $#!+ to do list, thanks

mine was the abs wire rubbed on front rotor and got cut. May want to check that.
