If you dont have gauges get the juice in not a big fan of the smartys on the vp trucks by themselves
|
dont get juice with attitude basically everybody here would tell you not to. smarty programmer? definitely. i'd get that
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- but get gauges first. and probly a few upgrades |
Loved my Comp even though I'm trying to sell it. The Comp works great for you guy's that want to go fast but does very little for low end torque. In my case, this is a farm truck that need the low grunt to get heavy trailers rollin in the soft stuff. So a lot of what chip is best for you depends on what you want the truck to do.

i know ts does the heavy haul chips for powerstrokes. im not sure if they make em for cummins or if somebody else makes something similar

well iv got an automatic so i dont think the low end HP increase would benefit my truck a whole lot. i want my truck to be able to pull a load but i also want somethin i can have some fun in as well. :rocking: and iv got a dual gauge pod with egt and boost.

maybe go with a few others such as injectors. lift pump, turbo and such oh and trans. a chip or tuner can only do so much with your stock equipment
|
First and most important you have to have a fuel pressure gauge on the truck and NO a warning light is not just as good. Once you have a fuel pressure gauge you will realize you need a better lift pump once you have taken care of that issue then it's time to think about adding power. since you already have boost and pyro no reason to get the juice with attitude you can get a comp box and save some money. The smarty is a lot better for the 3rd gen's they just give you like 65hp max on the vp trucks. They comp will give you the biggest bang for the buck. You will want to start putting money away for a trans once you start adding power. After you get bored with the truck having the comp you can add a set of injectors they do make a big difference. I have been all over the hp range with my truck from a programmer to where I am now so I have been through it all.
Hey prison I am not sure how much you know about the dodges, but your advice seems to be a little lacking in knowledge for the cummins and vp trucks. The edge juice with attitude works great on the vp trucks the smarty is best on the commonrail trucks. Adding injectors doesn't do nearly as much unless you add them once you have a programmer. The vp's need a little timing to make things sing. |
got a friend with a vp he hated the edge juice with attitude. it just caused problems. we took it out and all his problems went away. thats why i'd never go with the edge
