i need advice

Ok guys, ive got a problem. I can only do one but i dont know wich is better a cold air intake (brute force) or an exhaust system. I dont have a lot of money and i dont know wich will give me better results. i also dont know if a 4'' or 5'' kit is better. if i go with the 4'' then it will probably be w/out muffler but if it is the 5'' ill probably go with the rollin smoke w/muffler. no matter wich way i go it will be around $350. my truck is an 02 and the only mod for now is a raptor l/p. eventually will have 100horse injectors smarty/edge turbo and trans. greatfull for any help

IMO I would go air intake before I went with a exhaust just for the fact that you have the raptor so your pushing more fuel so your gonna need more air to keep everything in check but like I said just my opinion. But if anything if you dont have a fuel pressure gauge you might think about going that route as well.

Straight pipe what you have now and get an intake. Even just a straight pipe and BHAF, will make a bigger difference than just an intake system, or just an exhaust system. And without extra fuel, a 4" isn't really needed for anything other than the tone.

Thought...

You could swiss cheese the air box for now, hold onto your money awhile longer. This gives you some time to decide on which way you want to go. For example, cruise through ebay for a BHAF, and pick up a outerwears to protect it. You could also be searching for a drop in exhaust kit. You could also check with vendors here on the site for some prices as well.Just saw a MBRP with free shipping for less than 260 bones. Just a couple of thoughts.

Yeah, I just saw that MBRP, there are plenty of air options too.

You should just get a BHAF which from Napa is filter number 2790 and replace the stock airbox with that. I agree with just straight piping the stock exhaust too. That couldn't cost you more than 100 bucks. I know the 2790 filter that i got from napa was right around $46 or so.

Your gonna need some gauges so how about buying mine they are glowshift egt, fuel pres, and boost. Your gonna need a new sending unit for the fuel pressure though. No big deal they are like 15 bucks. Comes with a autometer pod to, $120 bucks. When i get a new intake ill give you my BHAF. Just pay shipping.
