I think I may try cutting the fuel back. But the other day I tried it out and during a 5th gear (6spd truck) pull to 3750rpms it only got to maybe 1500 deg. Egt's. I only turned that many rpms cause I blew a boot completely off, making 60psi boost with the special Allen Head Bolts. I will give it a shot at sliding the plate back some.

Thanks Matt

A good 4 days, but I think I could do if faster now that I done it. You know how it is, you take your time and make it seem like it is harder then it is.

Are you using the stock 24v timing cover with an adapter, or did you switch to a 12v cover?

Also, what are you doing about wiring? I'm wondering what it'd take to swap the 99 chassis/engine wiring harness for a 97-98 harness

I used a 12V timing case and the 24V Tin timing cover. As for the wiring I just unplugged the VP stuff and ziptied it out of the way.

I got pretty much all the big major parts along with the pump for 1400 bucks. Just got to keep an eye out for parts to come up grabs. It may take some time but it is not much more than the cost of replacing the VP44. When I sold the VP and other parts I was less than half that in the P-pump swap.

Any reason for ditching the Tunnel Ram Intake?

Nice job!

I actually didn't ditch it, the one for the VP didn't work. But I traded it back in for one for the P-pump. The new one actually has a slope towards the fender that lowers the end of the intake horn so you don't have to stretch the intercooler boot as much.
