jwa fuel pressure sensor

Got a jwa and I can't get the fuel pressure sensor to work for some reason. I'm running it at the vp using a fitting that will allow it to work with my airdog. There's the original airdog fitting and then the swivel fitting with a port built in and the fuel line connected to that fitting. I get the default when its unplugged of 34 and when I plug it in I get a reading of zero. Why won't it pick up the fuel pressure? This is the second sensor I've tried because I thought maybe the first one was faulty and edge kindly sent me a new one but still the same result. Anyone had this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Can u post a pic of the fitting your using?

Well I don't have my computer its in the shop so I'm using my phone. I got it from summit and its red and blue anodized. About the only thing I can do is give a website because I don't think I can post a pic from my phone.? So ill get the site and if you want to look cool but I will have to wait until I get my comp back to post a pic.

Hell I can't figure out the page on my phone but its a russel performance fuel pressure takeoff -6 an male to -6 an female with a 1/8 in test port if that helps at all.

does the test port have a shreader valve in it? is the regulator opening it if it does?

Is it one of these?:

Just something to try, a shot in the dark, try grounding the fuel pressure sensor. In theory it shouldn't need a ground, but maybe that aluminum fitting isn't allowing a ground to happen and not allowing a reading.

crzycummins 06-22-2010 09:07 PM

That's exactly it. I didn't even think about it being aluminum and maybe not being compatible but since the unit is grounded I don't think I would have. But I guess it is definately worth a shot. Would I just splice into the sensors wire and run a ground from there? How would you do it? And what is everybody else using because I know I'm not the only one with a jwa and an airdog running its fps?

I'm running a FASS, but I have it run into the filter base. I have a Banjo bolt with a 1/8" NPT port in it for my pressure gauge.
Just try taking a wire from a known good ground, frame, block, or battery, and touch it to the frame of the sensor, where the wrench would go to install/remove.
It's a long shot, but it may work.

crzycummins 06-22-2010 10:02 PM

That's an idea. Ill give that a shot bud. Thanks for the feedback. Keep ya updated

Well gave that a shot. It was strange. I got nothing at first and then I moved the wire around and got a reading of 31 but I hit the throttle and no change from 31 but I also jiggled the wires to the connector that go to the fps and that's when it changed I think. But it went right back to the default. Arrrr this is becoming quite frustrating. This was a big reason I wanted the attitude monitor. I don't get why it won't pick up the pressure. Unless its in the module itself and the edge tech guy was no help what so ever this afternoon. He suggested putting a fitting inline like a t filling. That's all and well but that just doesn't seem like the best way to run one. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

I searched for a fitting for a while and this is the one I found. There's gotta be another one out there that is brass

There is a possibility that the wires and pins weren't crimped properly at the FPS harness plug. Only way to tell is disassemble the connector.
I assume you have the JIC fitting on the VP, and not the factory Banjo?

crzycummins 06-22-2010 10:26 PM

The fitting coming from the vp is the flare fitting supplied by airdog and then the anodized fitting yes.
