Southbend Vs. Valair
Ok guys, since its summer and work is good ill be ready for some parts this fall. Clutch is apart of that haha of course. So which brand do you guys recomend? These seem to be the two leaders and i want to hear what you guys have to say! thanks

I have never ran a Valair so I cannot vouch of them, but I am currently running a South bend DD. Many dyno pulls, sled pulls, and street miles have not phased it yet.Shifts super smooth.

My buddy said he has i believe a Southbend 3600 DD and siad that its very noisy, is this true? and im not sure if im going to be getting a single or DD. I just want to add small injectors, and a box.

i have a south bend 3850 12 button DD in my truck, it does make a little noise when you push the clutch in like all the DD's will do. There is a free floating plate inbetween the dual disks that makes this noise its normal.
if your buddy installed the throw out bearing backwards ( its easy to do) then it will be very noisy |
I'm running a Valair and I sale both Valair and Southbend. You really can't go wrong with either one.
|
I'm partial to Valair. Seen too many burnt SBC's.
|
roachie, what valair are you running? and what all do you have done to that truck. I looked at the Valair line and im kinda leaning that way mainly due to their prices but also they seem like a pretty good setup.
|
I would do a Nodular Dual Disc. Unless you plan on sled pulling
|
Luke i was looking around their site today and i was looking at their DD with the 3250# pressure plate, i would still have to upgrade the input shaft and hydraulics. but thats what i was thinking about going with, whats your opinion on that?
