comp box with fass ddrp lift pump?

i was surprised on lvl 5 getting on it the fass ddrp held fuel pressure is 8 psi ok to be at i know factory is 5 psi and everyone else says 10 psi how much life does a tapped pump take off on them because i might just leave it unplugged? does my fass ddrp lift pump sounds like it will keep up with the comp box?

10 to 14 is what you need

98dodgecummins 04-22-2010 09:25 PM

well most of the time it is 20 psi and 16 driving down the road then getting on it 9 to 10 . on lvl 5 what will happen if it goes down to 8 or 9 psi it shouldnt hurt nothing?

factory is not 5psi. my factory pump on my 99 made 13 at idle, cruised at 11 and ran down to 5 at wot. It's not good to run below 10. a tapped pump doesn't shorten the life span it's the low fuel pressure.

ok but ill just be easy on the truck but the fass ddrp aint bad keeping 8 psi on lvl 5 of the comp box.

it's still not great.

but if i dont let my fuel pressure go below 10 will i be fine?

Diesel Dawgs Performance 04-24-2010 11:58 AM

U can get a spring that will bump up the pressure a little on the DDRP.

yeah but what i hate about the ddrp at idle when warmed up it idles at 20 psi, 20 isnt very good is it? it would be nice if i could get the fuel pressure down at an idle.to like 17 or 18 an idle.

20psi at idle is fine.
