best track bar

It is time to replace my track bar and I am starting to explore my options. I know there are several companies out there and I want to get the best bar I can without breaking the bank. What bars are yall running and how do you like them. Thanks :humm:

I installed a Lukeslink on mine and its working good. But to really fix it go go with a replacement HD Trac Bar. Ive had several customers have good luck with the BD Trac Bar.

NAPA they have a lifetime warranty

I have been the napa and advance auto route before. They just dont last. and that was on my old half ton. :argh:

I put the BD trac bar kit on mine.Works great greaseable fittings.:tu:

Just to complicate things, I used an adapter and bought a 2003 track bar (redesigned that year) for my '02 a few years back. Works fine.

nobody using the dt track bar. i like there design.

Diesel Dawgs Performance 03-23-2010 05:37 PM

I believe DrEvil or Whitmore is using the DT Pro Fab.

the heim joints would be strong on the dt bar but probably a little harsh. The bd bar with bushings looks pretty good to though. I am just trying to get all the input i can. this is a pretty big purchase and one i dont wont to have to make again. I went that route on my old truck and ended up wasting a lot of $$$$. Thanks for all of your suggestions. :c:

I would get the solid steel industries 3rd gen bracket so you can run the 3rd gen trac bar.

Should be there on Friday. :tu:

Recieved on friday as promised. Very heavy duty bar. However it didnt seem to fix my problem. I still have a little slack in the front end that I feel in the wheel. I dont know what to do next. :argh:

turbo20psi 03-27-2010 10:53 PM

A little slack could be a stablizer shock in these trucks and some others to.Have you check the tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints, hub bearing assembly, axle u joints?Would the little slack be bump steer?

Diesel Dawgs Performance 03-28-2010 12:05 AM

My truck had a ton of play and wonder in it when I first bought it. After I fixed the Trac Bar and all the Ball Joints its like driving a Different Truck. Check your ball joints. I also have the BD Steering Box Stabilizer.

Not me, Whitmore, and Uncle Bubba.

I have one from a local guy. Franks Track Bar...lol

DT Profab, ThurenFab are among the best and have pricetags to match.

i need to get under it while i have somebody work the wheel. I will eventually get it. I was jealous after driving my bosses 03 f350 with more miles and no steering wheel slop. Mine is not to bad now but i want to try to get it back to like new. By the way did these things have slop in the wheel when they were new. I never drove a new one.
