Fuel pressure gauge
 
What brand of fuel pressure gauge would you guys recommend. I want an electrical gauge because I don't like the idea of fuel in my cab. To hook it up I would need an isolater and wire right? Where would be the best fuel port to hook it up on? I have a 99 24valve any suggestions would be great. And if you have any pics of an electrical set up that would be great. Thanks everyone has been so helpful on here.

I have a glow shift gauge they are super eazy to install but, BUT I just had a long trip this weekend and the gauge started reading 30+ all the time and when you get in the fuel hard it will start jumping around not like an acurate reading. I am calling them monday if you are going to buy one, pm me tommorow and I will let you know the verdict

Did you use a needle valve to dampen the pulses? Not to kill the sending unit. I haven't has any problems with mine and its been almost a year.

I am not a fan of electronic fuel pressure gauges myself, but I think ISSPRO makes some good ones.

Id run either an Isspro EV Mech Fuel Pressure or Isspro EV2 Electrical Fuel Pressure.

I also like the Isspro gauges since they are made not to far from home. If I ran a isspro ev2 0-100psi fuel gauge would I still have to run the needle vavle to dampen the fuel pulses. I am thinking of hooking it up to the inlet port on the injector pump with a tapped banjo bolt. What do you guys think about that? Thanks for all the responses.

Go with a mechanical guage - cheap, accurate, and issue free (if you ditch the isloator). A 0-100 psi gauge is not what you want. With the large scale you lose accuracy over your measurement range. You want a 0-30 psi guage or a 0-15 psi gauge (depending on what lift pump you have)

You want to leave the test port on the VP-44 free - so you can actually use it as a test port in case you need to verify the reading of your guage.

Use a tapped Banjo bolt on the outlet of the fuel filter - like this:

isspro makes good gauges and that would prolly be the best place to hook up so you know exactly whats goin into the pump... my buddy has a glowshift fuel pressure gauge and he has the needle valve on the isolator and his is on crack big time the needle jumps around like crazy and gives off totally false readings he said he researched it a little more and seems alot of ppl with gloshift gauges are havin problems :argh:

I had a DiPricol 0-30psi mechanical gauge and liked it, it was a better quality gauge than both sets of auto meter gauges I had(z series and ultra-lite II). Personally I think they are the closest match to the factory gauges.

The DiPricol mechanical gauges are a very nice guage as well.
