squealing

Has anyone ever heard a squealing comming from your injection lines or system? I dont have any codes and no hard starts good fuel pressure.

Never heard of that before. Are you sure it's coming from the fuel system? Any chance it's not just the fan belt?

Im pretty sure I used a stethoscope to isolate it. Its almost a whine or churping. Do vps make a strange noises like that? It used to be smooth :humm: I do have a head to exhaust manifold leak. could this cause noise in the injection system? Thanks

I can't see how a exhaust leak would cause a fuel issue, but stranger things have happened. A whine could come from the gears in the timing cover, but I can not say for sure. Vacuum pump maybe, they are very close.

I guess I was thinking the noise might be traveling through the head to the injector lines. I have good fuel pressure and starts up great runs good, but the noise is buggin me. It just started after I removed my exhaust manifold and installed a sps62 from II. I will keep looking thanks for the reply man

If it doesn't start until you changed something its pretty logical to assume that it was something you changed that caused the problem. Start looking for exhaust leaks. Chirping is usually a pretty good sign.

It is possible(but pretty unlikely imo) that a fuel leak in one of the injector lines could cause a chirping sound. But you should be able to see evidence of leaking fuel. Otherwise use a piece of cardboard to check for fuel leaks. DON"T USE YOUR HANDS! Bad things happen like amputation and death.

But start with what you changed. My money is on a leaking gasket on the exhaust. Probably on the head.

I bet your right! I tried using felpro gaskets for the exhaust but they suck! Guess time to go oem. Thanks and it is more of a chirping.
