How can I get it to smoke???
 

Hey I was wondering how can I get My 98.5 Dodge 24v Cummins to blow smoke? I know If I got a chip/programmer it would smoke but i can't afford it right now.so is there any way that i can make the ol' billy goat to smoke?I want a cloud of black not no little poof! so any ideas??? :argh:

well you could do injectors but thats costly itl doo the trick though.

Just take an intercooler boot off, and it should smoke! Wont have any power though.

can you run a smoke switch with out having a chip? do you think i can just tap the fuel pump and run a switch?

You could also choke off the air filter so the engine is starved for air. Smoke is wasted fuel, hard on the engine, and is annoying to everyone around you.

Keep diesels alive in society, save it for the truck pulls :tu:

Save your money and do it right! On a vp pump truck there's no way to add smoke for free. Enjoy the truck for what it is and it'll be worth the wait!

If your wanting to get black smoke the best way to go is injectors. If your truck is stock I would only recommend 50hp injectors but if you rob the fuel you will put out a very nice cloud of smoke. Chips help but wont help as much as injectors. And with the injectors you will see an increase in mpg :tu:

A chip like you mentioned that's designed for milage will not produce smoke. Since smoke is wasted fuel...

smoke is retarded to just want, if you can't afford a programmer or injectors how can you afford to waste fuel blowing it out of your exhaust?

the cheapest way to ad smoke is to get injector nozzle's. but.... with the v.p trucks you cant starve the injection pump for to long or your gonna be out alot of money you could have spent on a fuel system and a chip. therfore you gotta do a fuel system. (money). i had the same ideas rolling in my head when i got my first diesel. its not worth it to do it cheap. take your time and do it right itl pay off in the longrun.:c:

Injectors dont really help on VP44 trucks unless your running some type of Box or Programmer.
