Trans Temp

Where is the best place to mount the transmission temp probe? Someone on here told me in the back of the trans at the service port of the pass side of truck.???? Just seemed like it was to long but it did fit. Just kinda second guessin it as i just spent a ton getting the trans rebuild. Thanks for all the help..

Yes there is a service port on the pass. side of the trans, assumeing your 02 2500 is a dodge w/ a 47RE. If not you can always get an aftermarket trans. pan w/ a port for the temp. sender.

Which one? Different places in the trans will show very different temps. Torque converter is hottest, after the cooler is coolest and the pan will moderate somewhere between the two. Put it in the pan unless you are installing 2 or more sensors to constantly obsess over your transmission temperature or like scaring yourself watching the TQ temp spike.

the feed to the cooler is where ,i'll be putting mine.
