I've been running 2 stroke for yrs now. Cheaper than normal fuel additives. and lubricates the inj pump better

Newbie here so take it easy on me lol !! Make it smoke anymore ?

didn't make mine smoke anymore. It helps keep things lubed. When they changed the diesel fuel at the pumps to Ultra Low Sulfer, it caused problems. Sulfer was the main lubricating element in diesel fuel. 2 stroke is cheaper than the additives that are on the market, and out performs them on lubriticity. There Is TONS of info on this.

I persionally use Walmart Outboard 2 cycle. Cheap and has worked great.

Why:humm:
Were after power and added life to parts and the truck overall
Smoke is nothing other than wasted fule ='ing in higher EGT's and that shortens the life:argh:
Smoke is fun sometimes but common sences needs to come in too.
a 1oz to 1gal of fuel mix might give it a bit of a haze some times it did mine

Hey guys, I used to Blend oil for Castrol, 2 cycle oil for water cooled (outboards) engines is 10W40 oil with dye coloring, and will leave some ash or soot as you choose to call it. if you use 2 cycle oil for AIR cooled engines it will burn hotter and not leave ash /soot, but is much more expensive,as it is synthetic but in small quanities-- 1 oz/gal. it will be hardly noticiable. ATF burns hotter and is 60% synthetic chemicals anyway even in the cheap stuff and is easer to get through cummins filters as it is made from 7W stock Hope this helps :humm:

Ok im interested now
not trying to prove anything just looking for answers, so then why is 2 stroke oil so much thiner than 10w40
And Iv pulled a few cummis heads off and when i pulled a buds that ran atf every other tanks or less his shit was all sticky and gumed up but on other trucks black and dryer film?:c:

if you use multi grade oils they start out with 10w stock and blend up the top number is the ability of oil to sit on a vertical surface at 210deg F, the low number is the ability to flow through a gauged orfice at 210degF. the oil used in 2 cycle oil is supposed to be made out Blend Stock but some times if a batch of oil is not up to standards for big engines it is used to make grease or if over standard it is for 2cycle oil in WATER COOLED engines (outboards). if you want to burn oil make sure it is for 2cycle AIR COOLED engines, it burns and leaves no residue and the only way to know the difference is to read the spec sheet as this is kind of one of those dont ask dont tell thing from Manuf.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

ATF IS MADE OF 7w Blend stock and one of the ingrdients is synthetic "whale oil", yep thats why we used to kill whales, this is a great lube oil and atf has 6 to 8 detergents to keep the trans clean of clutch dust. according to who blended it will determine the amount of "whale oil" This is the thing that make atf work well but will cause your gummed up condition. it is expensive to blend with so use the cheap stuff which will have more 7W blend stock in it
