Default Hot rod VP44

Hey guys just a quick question, I was wondering if $1200 was a good price on a hrvp? It is used but only for 3 sled pulls then he blew up his truck. I have just the HO pump on mine now but I thought if this was a good deal I would go ahead and get it. Thanks!

Ok I was told that I would be limited to around 500hp with the pump I have now so I figured it would be good to upgrade but if they aint worth it then I wont. Thanks

The pump you have now will probably produce more HP then that HRVP ever would. They were a short lived fad that was way over hyped with no basis in reality.

Please tell me your not serious. A hrvp is a sovp with ho electronics. The reason you cant make as much power with a hovp is the plunger is 7mm compared to 7.5 mm with the sovp.

Yeah, I noticed a big difference with my Scheid lightening pump. I'm really pleased with it to be honest. And I think there would be an even bigger gain over an HO pump.

$1200 isn't a bad price, especially if you can keep your core. If your stock pump is still working. Maybe buy the HRVP, and sell the stocker and have yourself an even cheaper Hotrod pump.

You caught me, I don't know anything about the inner workings of these pumps and you won't find a single post of me ever claiming that I do. But I have seen the dyno sheets showing a power loss after replacing the SO VP44 with the HRVP. I'm a simple minded kinda guy, I don't know why half the things in this world work the way they do. I leave it to the experts to explain these things, I just base what I do off of what has and hasn't worked and been proven to do so.
