12v to 24v head swap
Hey guys i'm right in the middle of swapping my 99 24v for a 12v motor i bought. the 99 had the 53 block and cracked:argh: so now that i have both motors out sittin right here i'm wondering should i just put the 12v in, and how the hell does it all hook up. OR should i just swap the 24v head that has studs and its fire ringed and injectors, and do a p-pump conversion? whats your input and advice? thanks

you have to the change pistons a 12 valve head has to have 12 valve pistons and 24 with 24 valve pistons the bowls are centered on a 24 valve and offset on a 12
|
You don't have to use 12v injectors to run a p-pump.
If you want to swap heads onto the 12v you will also need to swap the pistons, as mentioned above. The bowls in the pistons are completely different, and the 12v injectors comes in the side of the head at an angle, whereas the 24v injectors go straight down in the head. |
i want to see some 12 valve injectors in a 24 valve head :humm:
