I was also looking into NOS. If you are going to do it I would use one of these..I would try a 75 shot first.Performance Diesel Warehouse - Products for Dodge, Ford, and Chevy Duramax.

I would rather not blow a turbo up at all. Your stock turbo is still worth $$

I still do not see the need for a blow off valve.

A blow off valve is used to prevent turbo surge. And they are much more common in gasser apps as they have throttle valves that slam shut on the airflow. But, some handshaker guys find them useful to help keep the charger spooled between shifts. For just about any other reason, it's just something to fire open and make smoke at will.

Before you get to nitrous, get tot he limits of airflow you currently have. Nitrous is very safe in a diesel as it is an oxidizer. And we can't have too much air. But, it really should be used to clear up that last remnant of gray/ black smoke the chargers just cannot clear. You'll be mush happier this way. Some competition rigs use it to get the chargers spooled at the line as well. but again, this does not translate to the average street guy.
