hybrid turbo
can some one tell me about the hi-tech HX 35 / HX 40 turbo up grade , are they any good. Also what is the mods that have to be done to the internal.:U:
|
It depends on what you want for power. They are good to around 400HP and even then, drive pressures are a real issue with the HX35 housing.

do you think it would be better to go with a new turbo.
|
if you have the money definatly go with a bigger turbo. but the hybrid is a step up from stock
|
so they will work for 325 - 350 hp. what is the the machining mods
they need |
i did mine with a grinder.i did this so i didnt have to take it off.all you have to do is open up the relief in the bearing housing up(where the wheel sits)to 3.5"bam,done.i love mine,of course i'd love to have a huge one,but mine goes to about 37pis and that's all i need.but its a cooler better 37psi than the stock turbo.it cooled my egt"s down by about 300*
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- and the damn thing screams like you would'nt believe, real high pitched, sounds awsome!:hd::rocking: |
i just need more air so i can cool off the egt's a little i think i should have around 325 hp. im was just mainly wanting to know what there was to do to make it fit. you liking those stacks or are they to stinken quite. :5:
|
oh i love them, they are quieter, but not too quiet.they have an awsome sound.my waste gate was stuck open until yesterday,i got that fixed and now you can really hear that turbo whistling through those stacks when it idles.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- i was gettin 20psi,now i'm gettin about 37psi! |
cool, mine is loud, but for the ricers :ouch: on the right side of me they get defend and smoked:bat:
