FASS Or Airdog?

im looking at getting some sort of aftermarket fuel delivery system, and have it narrowed down to the fass or the airdog. they both seem like great systems but i would like to hear others input or reviews on these two systems. thanks in advance. by the way i have an 2001 cummins.

matt.

I personally prefer the FASS system but the Airdog is good also. The only reason I like the FASS better is because of it's efficiency rating at removing air in the fuel and the advancements they have made in making the system quieter but you cant go wrong with either one. Our resident Cummins experts will give you more insite as to which one performs better for your engine.

Geez...didnt you see the litttle toy truck in his sig? What more do you want? :D

Wyatt Earp 06-19-2007 11:29 PM

FASS for me.

Diesel Nut 06-19-2007 11:34 PM

I personally prefer the FASS kits. Not very many Air Dog kits out there, and I only know of select few that offer them. The FASS kits I think are more common, and therefore subject to more abuse on the whole. With that said, I hear of very few serious issues with them. I feel for the money the FASS is the best bet. Got one on my truck.

thanks for the replies guys, i filled out the info on my truck in my sig.

I have the same Vegistroke system as CHenry and the FASS seems to work pretty good. We run vegi oil through it and as far as the pump goes it is dong great. I have it on a 2007 powerstroke

I am bringing this back to the top because I am asking the same questions as JD140h3. I see his sig now includes the Air Dog pump.
Our new sponser (Diesel Distributors) has what seems to me to be a very good price on the AirDog system (about $200 less than the FASS).
Is there enough difference in the two to justify the exrta money for the FASS? I have read lots about people's experiances with the FASS. What about the Air Dog? Are they noisey or unreliable? What are people's opinions on the quality of the system and their customer service? What kind of pressure can one expect with it?

From what I can tell the Air Dog has a 1 year warranty compared to the FASS which has a 6 year warranty. I know nothing about the Air Dog as I only carry the FASS Systems.

AirDog now has a 6year warranty. Also they are on sale for 500 bucks. I will be getting a AirDog. FASS is the same as AirDog and the inventor/owner of AirDog's son took the idea from his dad(AirDog) and made his own product I guess to compete with his dad. Doesn't sound very nice of son to do something like that to his dad, but to each his own.

I ain't tryin to sell anybody on anything different cause I think both of these are good products but in the interest of knowing all the options available. I installed a belt driven lift pump a few weeks back and so far it's lookin like the greatest thing since sliced bread hit the market.

CumminsCrazed 11-28-2007 12:46 PM

FASS all the way for me!!!

Super Dave 11-29-2007 07:52 AM

From my research what SuperDave4X4 said is true. The Airdog was actually first and it was pretty popular, then when the FASS came out that seemed to be the hot ticket.
It's appears that when the AirDog was new, he pretty much had the market cornered and the price was high--like pushing $1K. Was the popularity of the FASS due to price and subsequent good results?

Wyatt Earp 11-29-2007 09:16 AM

Don't know much about the AD. But the FASS well for me and my clients.

A guy on another forum asked the same question and there is some info on the airdog and it's owner. It seems as Charlie, airdog inventor, was sick for a while and had to take the back seat while someone else ran the company. Also from what I've read that guy didn't really try to market the airdog for our needs, only the big trucks.

Here's the thread...

Please don't think I'm trying to pursuede anyone into buying a AirDog because I'm sure it may seem like it on the other end. I'm just trying to post helpful information on this product that I've ran across the past few weeks.

You are running Straight Veggie in your truck? Please tell me more. I would like to do this too. I thought the newer trucks were not good for straight veggie. Especially the 6.0 powerstroke. If anyone wants to know more I have a pretty neat way to filter it. I blend it with diesel though. Cheers!:jump:

Wow! An old thread has been woken! Anyones opinions changed since this?

GuyWithA24Valve 11-12-2010 01:32 PM

I'm definitely a fan of the FASS systems. I have a FASS 150 on my truck and I love it! I have heard people say it's noisier than the AD, but I find it hard to hear it over the Cummins.

crzycummins 11-12-2010 03:16 PM

ive had no problems with my airdog... same principal at work here. basically the same setup between the two, just different brand names. like jif and skippy peanut butter. all depends on preferance

24vcumminscowboy 11-12-2010 03:33 PM

i went with the fass 95 gph system on my pickup no problems 20,000 strong so far at wot the lowest pressures went was 15

01cummins13 11-12-2010 04:17 PM

I have the AD II 165 and love it, its really quiet and compact! id buy another one:jump:

DanLowe 11-18-2010 10:44 AM
