Which chip is best for 99 cummins
 

I have a 99 cummins with a 5 speed, i want better mileage, more power, and smoke when i want, which chip would be best?

edge chip it has 5 settings plus you gauges it cost about $700. i know a guy that has this chip on this 02 and he is getting 24mpg

x2 for the adrenaline. put one on a buddys 01, big difference in power, shift on the fly, smokes, and on level 10, he went from 15 mpg to 17.8 mpg

Thanks for the info, i am looking at either the edge juice with attitude or the adrenaline, im leaning towards the edge but i need some more advice.

I have an Edge Juice with attuide on 98 1/2 4x4 with a 5 speed. I Love It. I get the gas mileage when I want it. (before the programer I got about 16 to 17 Highway and after it jumped to 21 Highway.) and when I want to see the black smoke I just push it up to level 5 and I see enuff black smoke to piss some people off behind me:U: but I have had the programmer on for about 6 months now and I am already upgrading my clutch. Needless to say I like to see alot of black smoke in the rear view. But that is something to think of before you do any upgrades.

OH welcome to DB there is alot of good advice on here you just have to ask for it.

I like smoke too, but i want the extra mileage when i need it too, is the juice pretty easy to install?

I can only give advice on the edge as thats what I have and love it. I think they both will give about the same power and mileage. Just not sure what one costs the least.

Run the AdrTQ Tune on the Adrenaline and you will smoke out the interstate.

I use to have the adrenaline w/ pulse on my 99 and loved it
the kid has an 04 with the juice w/a hot unlock and i could walk all over him

The edge is a little more costy, but i heard the monitor is alot nicer?

i went throught this delima on which one to get, asking every one i talked to that had a 2nd gen. the ones who had run them both for awhile said they like the adrenaline better.
i never got the chance on my truck, but like i stated earlier, my buddy loves the crap out of it. wnet from 15 to almost 18 on a 1 ton dodge with 4.10 gears is pretty good. every person you talk to will tell something different, its all a matter of opion.

I just ordered an Adrenaline on Friday, picking it up Wednesday, my truck is "stock" (4" exhaust, cold air, lift pump), Ill let ya know how it is. I too am probably going to be needing a clutch shortly :w2:

i would go with the quad adren.. w/pulse... i love mine.... you can make your own tunes.. and you get all the gauges you need with it....except fuel.. make sure you get the fuel with it....when i bought mine... it was sopossed to have it.. never came with it though... so make sure ya get one.... or make your own....i have seen them made with an oil gauge. and work.... jamie wood. on here can tell you how he did his....jamie also made his own fuel pump....and pushes around 450hp or more....p/m him . and i am sure he will tell ya he did his..
