extreme vp44

I suppose nobody here is brave enough to get inside the vp44 and change anything? I thought this site was called diesel bombers! I have figured out how to literally turn up half the cummins in my town so i will figure the 24v out as well. you can even turn the common rails fuel pump up by moding it! I think its time we figure out the vp44:c:

I am also working on a complete stand alone computer for it as well that works straight off of the tps. But it is top secret

I'm just tryin to figure out why. The stock pumps have been shown to handle HP rating well over 800 and if that's not enough the monster pumps are already out there. With all the special equipment it takes to build these pumps, not to mention the money spent buyin pumps to experiment on I just don't understand why. If there is somthin you want to know about them just contact Chip at BlueChip Diesel, he spent years and massive amounts of money getting to know these things better then anybody our there and he has always been willin to talk shop. If this is what your into just start with the bare metal and build yourself a whole custom truck.

RIGGLE21 05-01-2009 08:14 PM

the problem with all that is most product out there are shut down by emissions and it doesn't stop at blue chip. the monster pumps to my understanding are nothing more than a 235hp pump with a 245hp ho pump cam drum. I want to find something that someone can do in there own garage that doesn't cost $4000 for $500 dollars worth of work

and another thing is that the redline box only works above 2000 rpm. is this correct

Go visit a Bosch rebuild center and look at all the machines it takes to build one of these pumps, even if you have your specs and parts you want in it and find a place to rebuild it it's still gonna set you back that amount by the time you pay everybody. Your talkin about without question the most complicated part of the whole truck with the least amount of tolerance for variation. Thousands of pounds of psi in there with gap tolerances of zero. Even the most expensive pump I've seen on the market personally was only $3200 and it is a custom build through BlueChip.

I'm still just not seein the need for more then is available. If your lookin at the 1200hp plus range I guess you have a point here but other then that I wish ya luck.

what is the highest horse vp44 out there? the main fueling componets in the thing a the cam drum, pistons, high pressure solenoid valve, and the delivery valves. inside the pump i am only looking to alter the cam drum! not sure how far to take it though? when it comes down to it, it is only a pump

crazyray 05-01-2009 08:38 PM

sounds interesting wish i had the money to play with one. but if i had that kind of money i would just p pump my 24v:choochoo:

RIGGLE21 05-01-2009 08:47 PM

That what i'm trying to figure out! I really feel that this can be done for around $100! I figure my pump will go out soon so I want to be ready! I have had a p pump tore apart in my garage floor and put it back together twice as mean all because I knew what was inside

the computer shouldn't cost more than $50 once i figure it out as well
