well if you run it infront the tires as close to the cab as you can get it, it is going to be loud, at least to you it will be:tttt: and my buddy with the ford, his was white and he would get coal up over the wheel well area sometimes, but hey don't cost much to just try it. whats the worst that can happen, just watch where you cut off your existing, and if it don't work you can get it back where you had it. if you want it real loud, you should put a hood stack on it.

I have 5" and when I was installing all I had was the down pipe and three ft. of pipe add to that and it was about two ft. from rear tire. Way to loud :choochoo:

My old 12v used to dump out in front of the rear tires, with a 4inch straight pipe, and it was annoyingly loud. It was awesome for a while, especially the first night I put it on. People in little cars hated that thing right in their windows. I later installed a muffler and went out the rear, to quiet things down a little.

Thats how I'm running my 24v now too, out the rear with a muffler. I even added an extra turbo in an attempt to further quiet the noise.

5" is pretty sweet, tends to make it a lot deeper and sound more like a straight piped peterbuilt.

My 4" Straight Piped with a 6" Tip is Loud but not annoying.

I like the tone I get out of my 5".It's not annoying around town and gets a nice deep rumble(like a big truck) when I get on it.I've gotten a few questions and compliments on the sound from people at the gas stations.I like most the fact that it is a lot less cab noise than the stock exhaust when on the highway at cruising speed.I get some noise when pulling hills but the deep rumble is a lot more bearable.I started adding a little 2 cycle oil to the fuel and can hear my radio at the stop light with the window down too.I'm sure the car next to me appreciates my music too and not just my engine.https://www.dieselbombers.com/images...es/JC_moon.gif

They are about the same volume, but the 4" is definitely raspier. So the pitch is different.

With twins, 5" and no muff, mine sounds like a stocker.
