HX40's are know to have weak shafts. Give us some info on your truck and its current setup.

02 dodge 2500 6 speed with edge juice with att k&n cold air intake and custom exhaust stock sticks has FP guage and fass 150 just runs to hot and want more HP

A hx40 would be and ok upgrade. I know that the switzer S300 turbos are a very good charger and are only a little bit more in price than a hx40, if u have the money to do it.

HX40's can be had on the cheap. But it's important to know which one you are getting because they are all not created equal.

As mentioned, there is more options with one of the S300 based turbos and everyone seems to "make" one. Same HX40 downpipe typically as well.

I would skip the HX40.

A small set of towing twins would be best, but a 64mm sized single will work. It'll still get toasty on top, but that's life with a single.

You can push over 500hp with a 62/14 but it will get warm. Might look at a Super Phat Shaft 62/71/14 or 64/71/14.
