Exhaust manifolds: ATS vs BD vs HTT

Sounds like all 3 of these are repitutable brands, I also understand that the stock CTD exh. manifolds like to crack.

Which one of these manifolds are worth it, does any one have any experience with any of these aftermarket manifolds? can you feel the the increase in spool up or anything? and how hard is it to remove your old stock manifold?

thanks again guys for all your great answers!!!

im liking this website more and more!!!:c:

i got an ats, dont know if there was a difference in the spool up, truck was down over a year from the time mine broke and i got it running again.

You won't find spits worth a difference between them as far as performance, just make sure you get one that is pre-tapped for the pyro. Not sure which brands are anymore, they seem to change once in a while from year to year.

Ill give ya the advice that ol' Biged didnt give ya from his personal experience...Dont i repeat DO NOT use a plasma cutter to cut the stock manifold off the truck if the bolts are seized :D now you know why his truck was down :run:

I like the HTT's very quality product, great price and includes new gaskits.

cool! reason i was asking becuase back when i bought my turbo originally it was a 62/14, i had some pretty bad lag and while pulling my boat (19ft fiberglass) on the highway i had so much lag and when id try to accelerate under low boost my egts would skyrocket, so i called HT turbo and they sent me a 12cm exhaust housing. what a difference that made.. but i miss the top end pull of the 14cm housing. was thinking if i installed a different ex manifold this would cure the spool up issue with the old 14cm...:humm:

DO NOT CUT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD OFF WITH A PLASMA CUTTER.

did you try taking it out of overdrive? I had no heat issues when pulling this last week. enclosed trailer full of kitchen cabinets around 7k behind me and the trailer is totally flat upfront so this thing really pushes some air and I had no issue when passing just dropped it out of od and away she went.

I have a BD exhaust manifold and it works awsome. The price was good. There all very compariable. It's the money thats the issue and if you have any money is the other issue:U:

I think they are all pretty much the same.If you look at them they look identical with different brands casted in. I'd say wich ever one you can get the best price on will be the best.
