Going away from Adrenaline, need advice on replacement
 

Ok guys, here's the deal. First one I had burnt up, now on this one I've got with the "updated firmware", it's fueling heavier on level 5 than it is on level 10. All I'm getting is barely a haze. Anyway, rather than to continue troubleshootin I'm gonna spend the extra money THIS TIME and get a different setup. So I'm just curious what ya'll have got and what's worked for you on your 24Vs. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey Mark just to let you know when Quad sends the Adrenaline back after the firmware update they only put a Adr1000 tune on it. Have you tried downloading the ADRComp2 Tune? There is a huge power difference between the 2 tunes.

Comp or Juice alone. Best HP and driveability along with great fuel economy.

The TST/ Smarty stack worked ok for me, but could not use cruise control. The TST/ EZ stack was far better in this regard.

I'll give that a shot, but the point is this, it oughta be smokin like a freight train on PL10 regardless. Cuz the higher the level you go, they're supposed to just fuel more and more. Right? Or can somebody correct me if I'm wrong?

the 1000 tunes are not much over stock it will give you a little pick up but not much
you signature does not say you have the pulse which with it you can tell it how much fuel it can use
but like luke said slap another tune in it but get the pulse set it up for more fuel and you will have smoke
I do know that with my old 24v with the comp2_4k doing a brake stand I blacked out the shop for ten minutes:w2:
but of course I had the pulse with fueling turned up:U:

i agree that a dif. tune on the adr will yeild you better results....but, i can understand just wanting to dump it...edge comp/juice, as stated before is tried and true...great power, reliability, etc..stack it with the smarty and then you'll really be loving life...id def give them a shot if you get rid of the adr

If you decide to dump the Adrenaline since you already have gauges id go with a Edge Drag Comp.

Try the AdrComp2 or AdrComp4K tune and im sure you will be happy with the results.

i reccomend TST/SMARTY stack or the Edge juice/drag comp, i know mark (TST owner and engineer) very well, im switching to TST when the new box comes out, marks been running it on his truck and been testing it for almost 2yrs, itll smoke the shit out of the adrenaline or the juice. I love my edge juice though, so when the new TST box comes out, ill just transfer it to our other 99. marks hoping to have it out by christmas.

You know anything more about the new tst unit....just like how much it should be putting down, the adjustability, etc???

Yeah, let me know some more details on what you know. If that tune Luke wants me to download works I might wait til the to buy one and see how it stacks with the adrenaline. Like for instance, what's the hp and torque output gonna be, will it have a built in turbo timer, hi idle? All the bells and whistles or just a hp adder?

from what little marks told me, its output on the dyno in both hp and tq is showing more then the adrenaline, by how much, he didnt say and i didnt ask, but what i understand, its got a ton of bells and whistles and thats why its taking him 2 yrs of testing to make sure when he does start selling it, that it wont have any issues. i do know it is a touch screen monitor designed to work as gauges and possibly a built in scan tool for engine and pcm codes and it is a timing and fueling box. i dont know much more then that, but i rode in his truck with the older PM3 box and now this new box and this new one really kicks it up alot!.

I have been considering dumping my Adrenaline too. Its been a hassle for me and I cant get it right. It will smoke the road out, but makes the truck surge, I have tried to fix that more than once. Plus the buttons on the pluse are going out, I hear thats a common problem. I like the sounds of that TST, I have heard good things, and I hope he will have a web page for it so I can research.

The new chip isnt out yet nor is it on the website, marks still working to get one final bug out of it, he told me this morning that he wont put it out till he feels its 100 percent trouble free. but i have seen it and the new monitor which is pretty sweet in his test truck. i am going to this chip, i trust mark and tst to the end. been running an older version of the PM3 comp box that a local guy had laying in his garage and hes letting me test it out, my truck was a wild ride at WOT with the juice, with the comp box, its even wilder. un like most boxes, it fuels up to 4200 rpm and beyond. for those that dont mind a crap load of smoke, its number one in my book.

Edge drag comp stack with smarty :U:No problems cruise control work fine.

yep the smarty makes cruise touchy but if you hold set and slowly speed up several times it will learn to be less touchy. your around town milage will suffer on the more agressive softwares with the smarty.

to the vendors? Are new improvments coming soon on the ADR/pulse or are we stuck with the bad buttons, any new tunes

wanting to try a ADR and put the dragcomp on the shelf for a bit, trade anyone? might even try the tst comp3 if ya want to trade or even swap for a few months.


T 20 how does you truck run ever mad numbers on the dyno?
What ever you do don't go to a SPS turbo like I did its really to big for 150 sticks or VP trucks altogether it lights about the same as the PS but it don't have that instant spool from 10 up to 40 like the PS does I wish i woulda left my PS alone... I do see way less smoke at 50#s and WOT in 5X5 though. Maybe with a hotrod vp and some bigger stick illl chang my mind.
