WOT Problems

Anyone have any idea of what could be causing this...when I gouge the truck wide open it will shut off. The turbo timer will stay on until I cancel it by pulling the key out and hitting the gas pedal and then if I try to start it, it will start right back up. It is driving me nuts. I have the dyno2_4k file in the adrenaline and then changed it to the compf but it didn't seem to make a difference. Im not sure if it is adrenaline related or not.

does it do it if the adrenaline is completely removed from the truck?

busta 12-20-2008 03:24 PM

i once had a problem with the old comp f tune shutting the truck off during warmup mode switched to the comp2_4k and runs great even tho i still don`t have a fp reading :madd:
sounds like you need to adjust some settings for for tt and your fuel settings

dukeboy_318 12-20-2008 05:35 PM

sounds like another adrenaline box problem, remove the box and see if it fixes it

cummins24 12-20-2008 05:47 PM

Probably an ADR problem, I would say test your fuel pressure but from your signature it looks like you already solved the fueling problem.

I know it isn't running out of fuel because if it was it would stumble and then die and would be really hard to start. After it shuts off you have to wait about a minute after turning everything off and then it will start back up. Tomorrow I will remove the adrenaline and see if that fixes it. I really don't want to go back to stock though.:argh:

cummins24 12-21-2008 09:49 AM

After having the adrenaline stock just sucks :booo:

I had the same sort of problem at wot it would run great but as soon as i let off it would die.

:humm: ya need the pulse to set everything up for the way you want to drive it :w2:

Unhooked the Adrenaline today and the truck then did not quit at WOT. It must be something in the box that is causing it. I guess I am going to have to call quad tomorrow and see what they can do for me. This sucks!

Diesel Dawgs Performance 12-22-2008 12:48 AM

Try downloading the Comp File and go to Change Parameters on the Pulse and make sure you have the factory tune loaded. :pca1:

MOUNTAIN MAN 12-28-2008 01:18 AM

UUMMM the DYNO tune wasn't meant for the street, and has been known for the engine to Die after WOT. Try one of the comp tunes.

justviper1 12-28-2008 08:18 AM

I talked to quad and they said that it is the 4k files. They said that they have a tendency to shut off some guys trucks while running fine on others. I just changed to the dyno2 file and so far it has only done it once. I actually don't use the factory tunes. I have some very heavy custom tunes that I run usually.

kazairl 12-29-2008 10:17 AM

Mine will do it too. For some odd reason when you Lift after a WOT run the ADR shuts the Lift Pump off. I'm running the New Comp tune(not the 4k) and it does it to me when I drop the CAN and TPS fueling down to 20% or less. Hasn't done it to me since I raised the numbers a little. It didn't start doing it for me until I loaded the new comp tune. I think I'll go back to the older one.
