does the adr. module have to be in the truck to download a new program to it?

Nope You can take in and use a usb cable direct to your puter

Can you also reprogram it while it's hooked up in the truck?

You know I would say yes as long as the truck not running with ignition switch off. NOT SURE on this!! Just throwing out my thoughts

I usually take the laptop and update the adr under the hood but I always unplug it

i would just unplug it to be safe.and if it's already unplugged, takin it inside to the warmth sounds a lil more tempting.

Yea...I would unplug just to be safe! I dont have a laptop so I must always take it in....gettin the pulse soon and hopefully I don't have to update that thing all the time cause re-running wires ain't fun to me....
