fuel pressure gauge problems
I have a 2001 dodge cummins, I have installed a electric fuel pressure gauge, and my sending unit did not come with an adapter to connect to my fuel line. My sending unit has 1/8 npt male threads, what do I need to connect it to my fuel line? I was told that a banjo bolt would connect but I just don't see how. Appreciate any info.

Youre setup should look a little something like this (this is on an 01 - but its an install for a mechanical guage):
Attachment 55184 You will need a tapped banjo bolt (for a 24V) - this is avaialble from any diesel performance shop. You will screw youre sender into the bottom of the banjo bolt, and instead of hose running into the cab, you will have wire. I would recommend installing a needle valve, like it shows in the picture. The needle valve should be open just a hair so it dampens the pulses from the VP-44. This will help save your sender from an early death. I would have recommended running fuel into the cab - cheap, easy, and no problems. |
