build up help

i have an 01 with an edge and i love it but i would like to get it up around 600hp. Im hoping you guys could give me some input on what works and what doesnt and any problems i might run into. its my daily driver but i tow race and off road on the weekends. its an automatic. im gonna get a fass becuase my fuel pressure runs a little low. I have the stock exhuast cut of before the muffler. Im going to get a stack kit and an intake becuase that will cool the egts down right? who makes a good intake? I need to get a tranny cuz its starting to slip quite a bit and shifts terriable. there is a local shop that said he would build me one but it was pricey and dont know too much about this shop. who has built most of your trannys and are you happy with them? i was thinking about going to ats. i have heard they have bad customer service but if it doesnt break i dont need to talk to them. do you think i could get by with just a billet input? then i want to stack the edge with a smarty. i think im gonna go with the dragon flow injectors from industrial injection. then get a set of arp head studs. i would like to get the head ported and fire rinnged at some point but im gonna wait untill it has to come off. Im also thinking about getting one of those arc flow intake manifolds. im really not sure what to do about the turbo. any suggestions? i would like twins but thats a lot of money. i was also thinking about the snow methonal water injection to keep egts down. what do you think of that? i have been looking into one of the monster vps too. it seems like there are a few guys running them and they seem happy with it. would it be streetable or just a drag to drive? i also heard you have to run their injectors? if they are really that great why doesnt everyone have one? so what do you think about that setup? i would like to get alot of power and smoke but its gotta be reliable. did i forget anything? any help is appreatied. thanks

A 600 HP 2nd gen Daily Driver would be a feat in its self , A 500 HP Daily Driver is a more realistic Goal IMO

Start with a Full Built Transmission , with billet input intermediate and output shafts , theres about $5,000 .

To Street 600HP on a 2nd gen you will need it

you will need a set of twins and some big sticks to get close and then a better injection pump might as well just ppump it and get it over with.

I've heard Goerend builds some pretty nice trannys

ive got a buddy locally whos running just under 600 hp in his daily driver, a 98 ton dually, full billet steel transmission and converter from suncoast, 125 hp injectors, adrenaline on comp tune, hx40 with 14 mm housing and custom built exhaust(5in) on the dyno, he hit 575+ hp and just under 1000 ft lbs. so its possilbe, expensive but possible. more expensive with an auto then a manual but it can be done. my personal goal is twins and 240 hp injectors.

to answer your question about the monster pumps, they are very good but very expensive and you pretty much have to be running twins for the amount of fuel that they can flow. plus there injectors on something like 275 hp gain over the stock ones so daily driving would suck more fuel faster then you could keep the tank filled.

I was afraid to open this thread when I read the title.:humm: You can hit 600hp with a SO pump, but you will need the right combo & a good foundation [tranny] to make it a reliable DD. I know a guy who dynoed 570hp uncorrected with a 62/71/13ss, Mach 4's & Tst/Smarty stack. I hit 534hp/1053lbft. corrected with the mods in my sig last saturday. To get to 600, you will need either a big single, or twins. A set of 200hp+ injectors & a good fueling/timing box. Not to mention, lots of supporting mods.

If you are serious about this - the tranny is the starting point. You dont want Jethro at the local garage building your transmission. You are going to want to go with a tranny from one of the big boys - Goerend, DTT, Suncoast, HTS, ATS, and a few others that I cant think of at the moment. You will be spending minimum $5 k for that alone.

It is more realistic then alot of people think it will just take lots of $$. I did 569/1080 a few months ago and I'm confident next time I'll do better. One thing you have to realize though is it's not practical to drive around with 600hp. I drive around with maybe 340-350 regularly. That is the nice thing about the 24v trucks, a few pushues on a button and bam more Hp. I would recommend a fuel system, guages, tranny, intake, ehxaust, studs, o-rings, Twins, 220hp or bigger injectors and a good timing and fueling box. You can do it with a single turbo but it will be much more streetable with twins.

575+ on 125hp Injectors and HX40 :humm:

Doubt it, I've seen 575 on a 2nd gen and it was a wee bit more stuff than that! :pca1:
