NEW GUY NEEDS DIY HELP.....BADLY!!!!

OK guys so here's the deal. I've been in Iraq the last 7 months or so and bought a bunch of parts for the truck. Little did I know what a shop was gonna try to charge me to install this stuff. I mean they wanted damn near 700 bucks to install cab light. It was gonna be about 3 grand total. So if anybody has any advice on common first timer mistakes on what to look out for please let me know. Here's what I've got goin on the truck.

1. Recon Cab Lights
2. Air Dog 150/150
3. Quadzilla Adrenaline
4. Black Cloud Stack Kit 4" turbo back into 5" Aussies
5. Jacobs Exhaust Brake
6. DiPricol Gauge Set- Pyro/Fuel Pressure/ Boost

I know those might be considered fairly easy, I'm just a little new at this and nervous about screwin up my truck. So what's the preffered location for drillin and tappin for the pyro probe? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

None of those are really difficult you just have to have patience and take your time. Worse part of Airdog install is having to drop the tank for the Draw Straw. Gauges are easy just take your time. The pyro probe is just off center of the top of the exhaust manifold just before the turbo. Ill have to take a picture of mine and post it up for ya tomorrow. If you run into any problems give me a call.... I know u got my number :w2:

2. isnt too bad, getting the tank down is about the hardest part. make sure to use liquid Teflon on the fittings for the airdog. make sure to have good fuel line disconnect tools, and something real sharp to cut the pvc hose, i recommend going to home depot and getting a pvc hose cutter for like 12 bucks. and 7/8 wrenches for the fittings on the air dog. also when doing the push lock fittings for the hose, dont worry about if you cant slip the hose all the way on they are rated for 300psi anyway 15 psi wont spring leaks. try to slip on the hose onto the push lock fitting on a bench, not under the truck when working on it, it makes it much harder.

3. :run:

6. when drilling try to find a flat spot on the manifold before the turbo, start of will a small drill bit and work your way up to the correct size hole and tap it. suck out the shaving with a shop vac, and give the engine a quick start to blow out any scrap left in there befoe plugging the hole up with the probe. I think dannin supplys a banjo fitting to tap for fuel pressure, is the gauge mechanical or electic. boost tap is same as pyro except on the intake horn, but be sure to drill and tap the intake horn while its off the engine.

and have a buddy working with ya.

I wouldn't tap the the stock manifold for the pyro, replace it with a 3 piece. Will make a huge improvement in air flow, they are pre-tapped for the pyro and odds are pretty good your stock one already has cracks in it that will continure to grow and leak boost pressure.

Here's a quick write up on how to drop the fuel tank in minutes.

Where are you located? I'd be more than happy to help you install all your stuff in the Cave.
Here's a pic of the Cave.

The lift and trans jack makes it real easy to drop the tank. We have done quite a few Airdog systems, pyro's, trans etc...:c:

I'll do all that in a weekend for half their price if you bring the truck and parts to me...
