Snow W/M pyro lead?
Since I already have a pryo installed in my manifold, can I just splice into that to hook up my Snow W/M kit?
|
I don't really understand what you are wantin to splice into here, but if it in any way means tampering with the wire or the probe you can't do it. If you make any alterations to either of these two things the sensor will never be accurate again. You can't even shorten the wire length or it is shot.

Alright, sorry about that. My current Isspro probe comes out of the manifold to a few inch's of wire. At the end of those wires are metal eyelets. At that piont a longer lead wire starts there also with metal eyelets and continues to the Isspro brain/box. Now where the eyelets meet (using screws for attachment) can I just un-screw there and also attach the lead going to the Snow kit?
|
Nope. Those wires are set to a very precise Milli-ampre reading and any alteration to them at all throws the resistance off. In the directions of every Pyro sold it says in very bold letters not to tamper with the wire in any way because of this.

OK. I'll just drill and tap yet another hole in my exhaust manifold. Thank you for the help and the info. James

Granted I don't know anything about the injection systems myself, but don't most folks tap the intake manifold and not the exhaust manifold. Or is this for another temp probe that goes with the system.

I'm getting the Snow Stage 3 Water/Methonal kit. The Snow controller uses several parameters from the engine to determind the amount of injection and so forth. Those parameters are boost amount, EGT's and throttle position. So it comes with a "K" type pyrometer probe to read the EGT's. And yes, the actual water/meth injection does accure in the intake air horn.
I was just trying to use a short cut by using the same probe as my pyrometer uses. |
Silly Boy. You know the easy way out never works on these trucks.:c:

:argh:
Yeah, I know......... |
I think you can tap it at the probe, give isspro a call they will let you know. Tie into the 2 screws that your other wires are attached to.
