Injector Recommendations For Someone Who Should Already Know!

Well, I've had THREE CTD's, and a couple sets of injectors. I've installed more than a handful, and served as VP for a TDR chapter for serveral years. I feel that I'm pretty well qualified to make recomendations on a set of injectors. But for some reason, now that I'm ready to buy another set for myself.... I find myself in a quandry. I suppose that's because i'm playing with "my" money again and not spending someone elses.

REGARDLESS... gota 99 with a FASS, Edge HOT juice, BHAF, Straight Pipe (prolly fixing to add a 4"), and a massaged WH1C charger. I currently have NO problems with EGT's. I can hold the hammer down through all 6 gears with the edge on lvl 6 and barely scrape 1000*. So I've definately got some room to grow.

I'm pretty sure I don't want more than 100hp sticks. I really wanna go with nozzles... cause they're cheap. But I know a full bodied EDM'd injector is prolly the way to go. maybe even as small as a RV275. I dunno.

There used to be a place that would put edge nozzles on new 275 bodies and pop test them. Cost was about $100 more than just the nozzles. Plus a core of course. I think the 100horse models on the new in box 275 bodies was like $375 or something plus core. Anybody remember such?

Whadda ya got for recommendations?

P.S. I'd REALLY like to have no smoke while daily driving. I had some older (circa 2003) DonM 130 horse sticks. They smoked ALL THE TIME! Raw power, but Waaaaaaaay too much smoke. I sold them, and now am on the hunt for something better.

Thanks!
Andy

We have had great luck with the FireBall 150s. I have them in my truck now and I am happy with the EGTs, smoke and mileage. Advantage here is they are pop tested and ready to rock. A very good value in my opinion.

We do nozzles as well. Most are happy with them, but I still get mixed feedback. This is with the Jammers. I feel it's mostly due to guys installing them and not checking pop pressures.

I also have a couple of sets of F1 sticks that I really like.

Seems there are more and more options out there.

Dave

yeah, most people don't know that needs to be done. Around here they charge $15/injector do to it. Takes all of 5 minutes. But that's another ~$80 on top of the nozzle.

For the best bang for the buck in an everyday driver not interested in serious competion you can't beat the RV275's. Good power, good control of EGT's and half as much cost as most other even small sized sticks out there.

I agree with Bubba for the price RV275's are hard to beat. If your wanting something with a little more kick we can set ya up with some Dynomite Diesel Injectors.

I'm having excessive exhaust temperature trouble with my stage 3/100hp Jammer nozzles...got the coked head gasket onna nail to prove it.
Still gathering pieces on getting more air before summer.

Yeah, I definatley don't want to blow a HG. Went through that on the 12v. Them heads is HEEAAAVY! whew.

I'm kinda bouncing back and forth now... maybe sell my hot juice and buy the new quad box... then nix injectors... or maybe just add RV's to my existing Edge set-up. I dunno....

what bubba and luke said,rv275s are nice(and cheap) I almost don't need a electronic box to be happy, the truck pulls pretty good.

i am running ddp 200 horse and when you turn the juice off they run great. i just pulled a set of 100 horse jammers out and they would only run good if the box was on and even when it was on no where near the ddps

i love my DDP's for smokeless power, they are 250+ hp competition injectors.

here is how much they smoke at 560-570hp, granted im running a 66mm single turbo for air...but i can barely touch 1600* on a pull like these below

with TST for fueling

with redline for fuelin

now imagine an injector in the 90-100hp range from them...with a fast spooling WH1C, your smoke will clear fast at low boost, and your EGT's wont get high if you are only hitting 1000 now. maybe 1300-1400 when you wind it out WOT through all the gears, and I wouldn't be worried about a headgasket at that point.
