Default asking the imposible

i have 100hp injectors. the high out put injection pump, quadzilla adrinaline. i want to be able to use all this fuel and not smoke one bit from start to finish. is it ppsible? and how do i do it. i have a 351 vgt turbo on my truck now.. its broke i'm going to look into getting it repaired but if i have to buy a new turbo i want to get exactly what i want. 40psi cleans my smoke up in later rpms.

I don't think you will ever not smoke at low Rpms.

Too much fuel and too big of turbo.

I'm completely smokeless now.

* RV275's Injectors
* BHAF
* Edge Comp (5x3)
* Stock HX35W Turbo

The problem is you need a smaller turbo that spools up faster and less fuel or use a defuel mode till the turbo spools up completely.

Edge Comp (Sublevel)

1. 33% of stock fuel till 20 PSI of boost
2. 50% of stock fuel till 15 PSI of boost
3. 67% of stock fuel till 10 PSI of boost
4. Some extra fuel at 0 PSI
5. Full fuel at 0 PSI.

So I get a small bit of fuel lag but what funny now is 2nd and 3rd gear I can break the tires loose. Even with the my RV in tow if I'm to heavy on the throttle.

hmm i understand i will not get rid of all the smoke but i look like i just got bombed by a terriest going up a slight hill.. my vgt should close down smaller then the hx 35 and get slightly bigger witch is why i put it on but its broke and i never did get it tuned right.

VGT turbo have always had issues even in stock configuration. They had problems with the vanes jamming etc. One of the few reasons I held on to the stock turbo and tune to fit the stock hardware more so than tuning to a dream HP/TQ number.

What typically happen more than not is that people start Frankenstein there trucks together with a bunch of mods that claim bigger HP/TQ number without any design, calculation, or consideration and then end up with a mess of a truck that had really poor daily driving performance with reduced longevity.

Like the idea of a guy that building for a racing truck they want to get good quarter mile times. Understandable to build with the most fuel in mind. But now for a daily driver that you typically only use 1/4 to 1/3 of the HP/TQ just driving down the street and now street manner suffer and so does the efficiency.

I'm a daily driver design not a quarter mile designer...

thats gonna be impossible with the quadzilla all the way up, either get a 62mm turbo to clean it up or turn the chip down if you dont want a lot of smoke

I'm not sure of the the Quad's setting or tuning. But like on my Edge Comp I can run it wide open but set the defuel level down a bit to clean up the launching smoke.

Yep! That's something I just learned with my EDGE JWA. I had the 3-cyl high idle ECU update installed and apparently it came with other updates, some of which advance fuel timing/delivery from the VP$$. With my JWA defueling/low boost response set at 5 in all the levels, I was getting a bunch of new smoke before the turbo spooled up. After talking with a bunch of guys on CF (including the ever-wise Mopar1973man), I found that if I turned down the defueling/low boost response to 2 or 3, the smoke lightened up considerably and I still had all my power. My turbo still spools up quickly and I can still see what's behind me!

ok so ill set my adrinaline to do that i have played with it before but i always figured adrinaline new what they were doing soi just left it on ther factory settings. and as the boost thing i would like to be able to have all my fuel and burn it all.. but i get the time it takes for the tubro to spool so ill defuell on a turbo table. will this give me an even bigger lag off the line though? my power is already like an off on switch if i cut the fuel will it be worse?

That depends on a few things. For instance, Boost leaks, fuel pressure, engine operating temperature, intake temp etc. You'll never be able to burn ALL the fuel all the time unless you can find a way to keep your turbo spooled up at greater than say 10 psi between gear shifts and when running. Turbo lag is just a fact of life.
