Best buy for a Lift Pump

I am thinking of replacing the lift pump on my pick up. My truck is all stock with over 210000 miles on it. 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 extended cab long bed 5 speed 5.9 dsl, old oilfield truck. :tu: It still has the stock lift pump in the stock location on the side of the block. It still works with no driveability or starting issues.

I do not have a ton of money so cheaper is better. I have used the search function on here and found so many opinions. My first instinct is to just get the Airdog FRRP. Simple install, upgrade over stock, A little room to grow. I am happy with my truck stock. There are mods I would like to do but just not in the budget. Mainly concerned with reliability 1st then more performance 2nd. Possible future upgrades would be exhaust, BHAF, programer. Those mods are not going to be anytime soon though.

What are your opinions? The Airdogs and FASS pumps with the attached filters are out of my price range. Was considering the the platinum series but even that is going to be hard to afford. So I am thinking 300 would be the most I can spend on this.

Besides your opinion on which budget minded pump is the best, I would also like your opinions on cheapest place to buy the pump.

Thanks for your input.

Time to try a old school approach. How about a Vulcan Big Line Kit and a AirTex or similar pump?

Vulcan Pusher Pump System™ for 98.5 to 04

This way you can have the 1/2" plumbing to reduce the line restriction and use a cheaper pump for the time being. Just while ordering the kit to tell Eric what fuel pump you plan on using. I used this kit for the stock carter for a few years.

I was looking at the FRRP my self. Any thoughts about this product. Im staying mostly stock myself, although Im using an Edge EZ. My concern is only a week after buying my truck(been over a year now) my stock lift pump went out and took the VP44 with her:dang:. At the time i was new to diesels, so i went with another stock set of pumps.:argh: Im all to familiar with the failure of the stock Carter pump, and would like to get away from it. thanks

I am not familiar with the frrp but the fass ddrp can't keep up with a stock truck. I would say look into a raptor because I know they work well

Yeah the FRRP is the factory replacement raptor pump. it bolts right in the place of the OE pump. Just wanted to get someone opinion who uses or has used the raptor pump.

I was not talking about the direct replacement but the raptor pump which is airdog with no filters it doesn't mount in factor spot.
